Active media controls

The media control interface is designed for high glanceability and includes four primary components:

Launch app: A touch target that returns the driver to the full media application.
Play/Pause toggle: A central action to start or stop the media stream.
Skip previous: Triggers the previous track or a custom action.
Skip next: Triggers the next track or a second custom action.

UX requirements

To ensure a safe and consistent experience across Automotive OS, follow these design requirements:

SHOULD	Display album art to help drivers identify the current track Feature four primary actions and stream metadata, such as track title and artist, if space permits
MAY	Recommended actions include: Launch the streaming application Play or pause the media stream Skip to the previous track. If not supported, the next available top action for that specific app, such as a "thumbs up" in Pandora or "+30s" for podcasts, should be displayed Skip to the next track. If not supported, the next available top action for that specific app should be displayed
