This section describes a typical flow for users who defer consent, and it provides details of the components for that flow.
User flow
As part of the Google Terms of Service experience, Google provides a number of components.
This flow illustrates possible pathways to Google services for users who defer Google Terms of Service (gToS) consent. It's crucial for users to find a way to activate Google built-in for them to get the full benefit of Google in their car.
Components include:
Consent prompt
Google presents users with a newly designed consent prompt that clearly articulates the tradeoff of accepting or declining gToS. The consent prompt is designed to capture the unconsented user's attention quickly, and to provide a direct pathway to gToS.

Reminder toast (driving state)
It can be dangerous to present the full consent message when the car is in drive. For driving safety, a toast is presented in its place to let users know about inactive Google services.
The toast, which dismisses after 8 seconds, is designed to remind a user to agree to gToS, once their drive is complete. When the car is parked, users should be able to access an entry point and complete the gToS consent flow.

Reminder banner (optional)
When an unconsented user restarts the car, it's possible to show a banner reminding them to agree to gToS. Ideally, the banner is animated to make it eye-catching.
The reminder banner should be triggered every time a user restarts the car. You can customize this behavior to fit your preference.

Inactive states
If a user dismisses the initial consent prompt, they land on the homepage with Google services unavailable. In this state, cards such as Gemini and Maps should educate users that the services aren't ready for use, and they should present a call to action that re-triggers gToS.

- Map card
- Assistant card
- Google app icons in app launcher
Inactive settings
For users who haven't consented, tapping on the following settings trigger the consent prompt.

- Google Account sign-in entry point
- Data sharing with Google in privacy settings
- Entry point to Google settings
Push-to-talk button
Input buttons that invoke Gemini, such as the physical voice input button on the steering wheel, should also trigger gToS.
